Guiding Washington and Oregon Fisheries
Living in the great Pacific Northwest has given us the best opportunity to get out and chase these amazing fish in some of the most beautiful fisheries here in Washington and Oregon states.
STEELHEAD
Steelhead and Rainbow Trout are the same species, but rainbow are freshwater only and steelhead are anadromous, or go to the sea. Unlike most salmon, steelhead can survive spawning, and can spawn in multiple years.
SALMON
Chinook Salmon are the largest of the Pacific salmon, with some individuals growing to more than 100 pounds. These fish are very rare, as most mature Chinook are under 50 pounds.
STURGEON
Sturgeon appeared in the fossil record some 174 to 201 million years ago, making them some of the earliest extinct actinopterygian fish. They are also known as dinosaur fish!
About Us
Meet Ryan
Ryan has lived in Washington State all of his life and grew up fishing with his father on all of the local rivers and streams. At the age of 7, he began fishing for salmon off the Edmonds pier which started his passion for fishing.
He specializes in fishing for large trophy size salmon and steelhead and takes great pride in what he does, considering it a privilege to take people fishing. He wants everyone to catch fish on every trip and works tirelessly to provide the ultimate fishing experience for each client.
Ryan is a fun, friendly, dedicated, and very personable guy who is very easy to talk to and get along with. A full-time fishing guide since 2010, he is licensed and insured in both Washington and Oregon.
Meet Melissa
One of Ryan and Melissa's first dates was springer fishing on the Yakima River back in 2010. It was Melissa's first time out on a jet sled and fishing for Chinook and she was hooked! Having been raised on the east coast, she wasn't too interested in fishing or hunting but soon fell in love with Ryan's passion for living an outdoor lifestyle.
Melissa is the one you'll speak with about booking your trip or answering any questions you might have. She has been in charge of marketing and managing the schedule since 2016 and loves to deckhand as often as she can. Clients love having her out as she brings extra fun to the day! She loves getting girls' groups together so other women can learn to love fishing just as much as she does.
Together, they are Riverside Guide Service!
After 5 years dating their way through each outdoor adventure the Pacific Northwest has to offer, they married in 2015. Joining forces to become the dynamic team they are today they are often told they make the best team on and off of the water.
Ryan and Melissa have raised 2 boys, who have also grown up loving the outdoors. Their youngest even enjoys deckhanding for Ryan during the summer months.
They look forward to having the opportunity to take you fishing.
Testimonials
"We did a veteran's trip two years ago. I brought 4 other vets with me that had never been salmon fishing before on the Columbia and every one of us got on fish! Great day full of fun with you and your wife... I'll be back!"
- Jeffrey B
"Ryan's the best guide on the water! He's just a fishy dude! He's usually the first one with his boat in the water, has the best tackle and gear available, and just gets you on fish! I'd go with no one else!"
